49.xxxxx Formatter/engine error
The Go, Ready, and Attention lights are blinking, or the magenta-print-cartridge, yellow-print-cartridge, andimaging-drum lights are on. 

50.X Fuser errorThe Ready and Go lights are on. 

51.x Bad beam detect error

NOTE:
Many of the first printers of this model were shipped with an 8 MB flash DIMM in DIMM slot 1. If theprinter has an 8 MB flash DIMM in DIMM slot 1, then replace the DIMM. The 8 MB flash DIMM will not workin any DIMM slot other than DIMM slot 1.

The print cartridges are not engaged correctly. 

10.94.YY REMOVE SHIPPING LOCKS FROM ALL CARTRIDGES
At least one print cartridge has a shipping lock attached. 

10.XX.YY SUPPLY MEMORY ERROR
The printer cannot read or write to at least one print cartridge memory tag, or at least one memory tag is missing.                           

11.XX INTERNAL CLOCK ERROR
The printer's internal clock is not working correctly. 

13.XX.YY DUPLEX JAM INSIDE FRONT DOOR
A jam has occurred inside the front door.

68.X STORAGE ERROR SETTINGS CHANGED
One or more printer settings that were saved in the nonvolatile storage device are invalid and have been reset to the factory default. Printing can continue, but unexpected behavior could result. 

79.XXXX ERROR
For the HP Color LaserJet 3000 and 3800 Series printers only, A critical hardware error has occurred. 

8X.YYYY EIO ERROR For the HP Color LaserJet 3000 and 3800 Series printers only, The EIO accessory card has encountered a critical error. 

8X.YYYY EMBEDDED JETDIRECT ERROR The HP Jetdirect embedded print server has encountered a critical error.

49.XXXX PRINTER ERROR
A critical firmware error has occurred that caused the processor on the formatter to abort operation. This type of error can be caused by invalid print commands, corrupt data, or invalid operations. In some cases, electrical noise in the cable can corrupt data during transmission to the printer. Other causes include poor quality parallel cables, poor connections, or home-grown applications. On rare occasions, the formatter is at fault, which is usually indicated by a 79 Service Error.
